“Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel at Shechem… and they presented themselves before God.” — Joshua 24:1 (NLT)
Joshua started with God’s presence. Before any decision was required, the people were gathered before God.
Presence always precedes commitment. When we skip presence, our choices become reactive instead of rooted. God never forces a decision from a distance; He invites us close so clarity can form. If you feel unsure, conflicted, or hesitant, it may not be because you’re unwilling — it may be because you haven’t slowed down long enough to stand before Him.
God’s presence creates space for honest faith, not pressured answers.
Where have I been making decisions without first creating space for God’s presence?
What would it look like to pause and “present myself before God” today?
God, I choose to begin in Your presence. Quiet my distractions and draw my heart near. Help me not rush decisions, but listen closely to You. I want my choices to be shaped by who You are, not by pressure or fear. Amen.

“I took your ancestor Abraham from beyond the Euphrates River… I gave him Isaac… I rescued your ancestors from Egypt.” — Joshua 24:2–13 (NLT)
Joshua remembered God’s story, not Israel’s efforts. When we forget what God has done, we begin to believe we’ve carried ourselves. Identity is shaped by remembering. Memory fuels humility and faith.
God reminds His people: It wasn’t your sword. It wasn’t your strength. It was My faithfulness.
In moments of decision, remembering guards us from pride and despair. The same God who carried you through is still carrying you now.
What moments of God’s faithfulness do I need to remember today?
How does remembering reshape how I see my current season?
Faithful God, remind me of all You have done. Restore my memory when I start believing I got here on my own. Let gratitude ground my faith and shape how I move forward. Amen.

“Choose today whom you will serve… But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15 (NLT)
Faith isn’t inherited, convenient, or accidental. It is chosen.
This moment came after the victories, after the land was settled, when life felt normal again.
God doesn’t just want your yes in crisis; He wants your yes in comfort. Choosing God daily protects us from drifting spiritually. Devotion isn’t about emotion — it’s about decision.
Where has my faith become assumed instead of intentional?
What does choosing God today look like for me?
God, I choose You — not out of pressure, but out of love. Help my yes be honest, intentional, and lived out daily. I don’t want borrowed faith. I want a chosen devotion. Amen.

“Fear the Lord and serve Him wholeheartedly… Serve the Lord alone.” — Joshua 24:14 (NLT)
As Christians, we must be clear about our allegiance to God. Who you serve shapes how you live when the pressure is here and when it’s gone.
Joshua challenges the people to put away competing idols, not just visible ones but their hidden loyalties. It’s easy to remove idols in Egypt; it’s harder in the Promised Land. Comfort can quietly replace devotion if we’re not attentive. Serving God wholeheartedly means letting nothing compete for first place.
What competes with God for my allegiance?
Where do I need to realign my heart?
Lord, I want to serve You with my whole heart. Reveal anything competing for my devotion and help me lay it down. I choose You above all else. Amen.

“You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:22 (NLT)
Surrender is acceptance of God’s leadership in your life. It is an active decision in living out your faith; it’s personal ownership.
Faith must move from inherited belief to conscious commitment. “You are witnesses against yourselves.” True surrender says, God, You lead — I trust.
Is my faith inherited, convenient, or chosen?
Where is God asking me to surrender control?
Jesus, I surrender again today. I accept Your leadership over my life — my decisions, desires, and direction. Teach me to trust You fully. Amen.

“Destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord.” — Joshua 24:23 (NLT)
Every yes needs protection. Joshua didn’t stop at decision — he called for action. Stewardship is the daily practice of guarding devotion. What you allow to influence you will eventually shape you.
Destroying idols isn’t about punishment; it’s about preservation of self. The yes you made today must be protected tomorrow. Stewardship keeps devotion alive.
What decision will protect the yes I’m making today?
What influence do I need to remove or limit?
God, help me steward my devotion well. Show me what needs to be removed so my heart stays aligned with You. I want my yes to last. Amen.

“Then Joshua sent the people away, each to their own inheritance.” — Joshua 24:28 (NLT)
Choosing God is a launch into commitment of covenant leadership. God sends us back into everyday life transformed. We’re able to walk with God in ordinary spaces with big dreams.
Continue to walk faithfully with clarity, devotion, and purpose.
How will my yes to God change how I live this week?
Where is God sending me to live out this devotion?
God, send me into my everyday life with clarity and courage. Let my devotion be lived, not just spoken. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Amen.
