In 2016, the van Weerdens came to Canada from the Netherlands for Pastor Léon to be Executive Pastor. Since March of 2022, he passionately serves Embassy Church as Lead Pastor. Prior to immigrating, Pastor Léon pastored a church in the Netherlands for 20 years. During this time, he planted a second church and had a national ministry in Jesus-centered worship, powerful preaching, and healthy church leadership.
He received his degree in Theology from Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in 1997.
Léon and Petra’s heart’s desire is to be an example and inspiration to others on how to live a God-centred, people-loving life. They are proud parents of two daughters and two sons.

Our Pastors are shepherd-hearted leaders who guide with vision, care, and spiritual direction. They equip the church to grow in faith, build strong families, and live on mission. Each pastor oversees specific ministries while working together to keep Jesus at the centre of everything.
